TOUR C
AUGRABIES FALLS 2 DAYS
MOLOPO LODGE 1 DAY
KGALAGADI PARK 3 DAYS

Safari – Day 1 and 2

Departure from Upington, visit a local wine cellar for a short tour and wine tasting. Arrive at Augrabies Falls National Park in time for lunch at the restaurant.

Enjoy a fascinating game drive in the national park, which provides a sanctuary to diversity of species, from the very smallest succulents, birds (264 species) and reptiles to Springbok, Gemsbok and the various viewpoints along the ravine. Birds abound here like the pale - winged starling, kingfisher, red-eyed bulbul and darter.

The Black eagle is a common resident Optional night game drive in a ranger's truck - 2 hours. Dinner at restaurant.

Overnight: Augrabies - Chalets (2 days)
Meals: L, D at Restaurant (not included)

Day 3

The day's adventure begins after an early breakfast with a scenic drive north into the Kalahari.

Lunch at the oasis of the Kalahari Molopo Lodge restaurant. We do walking around the area, in search of the elusive crimson breasted shrike. The ostriches will maybe join us!

Dinner at restaurant

Overnight: Molopo Lodge - Chalets
Meals: L, D at Restaurant (not included)

Day 4

Depart for Twee Rivieren, then off to Kalahari Wilderness camp. The biggest flying bird, The Kori Bustard are common to see here. Also the secretary bird.

Marvel at the sunset on arrival at the Kalahari Wilderness camp, which is an open perimeter camp as close to nature as possible. The camp showcases unforgettable scenery in a prime raptor habitat.

Settle in and enjoy sundowners overlooking the resident waterhole.

As night falls nowhere in Africa do the stars in the Milky Way and Southern Cross appear brighter and more beautiful than in the Kalahari, hence a traditional African 'braai' dinner compliments the day.

Overnight: Kalahari Wilderness Camp

Meals: B, L, D

Day 5

Early morning game drive to stop at a waterhole. Here the Lanner falcons regularly kills turtle doves in mid-air!

Depart along the pristine dune savanna and along the Nossob River. Due to sparse vegetation and concentration of animals in the Auob- and Nossob Riverbeds, Kgalagadi offers premium bird viewing.

Dinner at Twee Rivieren in restaurant (not included)

Overnight: Twee Rivieren - Chalets

Meals: B, L

Day 6

Early morning game walk with rangers. This is a good time to see the Namaqua sandgrouse and Spotted Dikkop. Then game drives around the area. Depart from Twee Rivieren at about 15H00 to Upington. Photographic stop at the Khoi San Bushmen roadside stalls where handmade artifacts may be purchased. Arrive in Upington for drop off at your accommodation for the night or Upington airport or bus.
