AUGRABIES FALLS NATIONAL PARK 1 DAY / PRIVATE KALAHARI GAME RESERVE AND KGALAGADI TRANSFRONTIER PARK

Safari – Day 1

Upington - Augrabies Falls (130km)

Depart 8h00 from your hotel in Upington. On arrival at Augrabies we  go for a walk to see the 6th highest falls in the world.
At midday lunch at the restaurant. After a short rest it is time for a game drive to visit the Moonrock and other beautiful viewpoints. Sightings of Giraffe, Baboons, Monkeys, klipspringers and dassies are common.
Optional night game drive with rangers in an open truck.

Overnight: Augrabies Falls National Park chalets.

Safari – Day 2

Upington - private Kalahari Game Reserve. (230 km)

Early wake up to start the 5 km Dassie Nature Trail. This lovely hike through a beautiful part of the park where you can meet the locals - baboon, monkey, dassie and klipspringer.
After the trail we break up camp and depart for our next destination deep in the Kalahari.
Here you have lots of opportunity to walk around freely and explore the plantlife and smaller animals of the Kalahari. Dinner under the stars. A night walk will end our day.

Overnight: Kalahari Game Reserve chalets.

Meals: Breakfast and Dinner.

Safari – Day 3 and Day 4

Twee Rivieren (60km) - Mata Mata (130km)

After breakfast we depart for Twee Rivieren. Time for a light lunch, then we depart north-west towards Mata Mata. We will see our first animals of the
Park. Antelopes like Giraffe, Hartebeest, Gemsbok, Springbok and Steenbok are well represented. Predators like Lion, Cheetah, Leopard and Hyena are likely to be seen. Birds are very common, with 264 species recorded.
Special feature Mata Mata: illuminated waterhole. Dinner while game viewing.

Overnight: Mata Mata chalets (2 nights)

Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

SAFARI DAY 5

Mata Mata - Twee Rivieren - Upington (390km)

Game drive using the Auob dry riverbed, direction south. At Twee Rivieren arrival 12h00. Depart for Upington for drop off at your guesthouse, or Intercape Bus Station.

Meals: Breakfast.
