Safari – Day 1

Upington – Olifantshoek – Witsand (200km)

Depart 8H30 from your hotel for the scenic road to Witsand Nature Reserve. On arrival we go for a walk to view the bird-life from a specially constructed ‘eye level’ hide. You can walk freely in this beautiful reserve , with springbok, vervet monkeys , duikers and baboons . Afternoon game drive to visit the famous white dunes or ‘roaring sands’. A small degree of fitness is required if you want to climb this 70m dunes. Incredible oportunities for photo’s await you here.

Overnight: Witsand – chalets/lodges (air-conditioned and swimming pool)

Safari – Day 2

Today we relax around the pool, or just study the birds and springbok that come and drink at the water hole right in front of the lodge. Afternoon walk in the botanical garden, or hike between the magnificent Acacia trees.

Overnight: Witsand chalets/lodges (air-conditioned and pool)

Meals: B + L + D

Safari - Day 3

Witsand – Groblershoop – Augrabies (200km)

Morning walk and game drive around the reserve. Last visit of the dunes. We then depart to Augrabies. Afternoon arrival. After lunch we walk to the 6th highest Falls in the world. 'Akoerabis' (place of the big noise) falls 67 meters into a 17 kilometer ravine. We go on game drives to visit the impressive viewpoints like Ararat, Echo Corner and we take a walk up the Moonrock. Optional night game drive with game rangers and/or Orange River Rafting.

Overnight: Augrabies – chalets/lodges (air-conditioned and pool)

Day 4

Augrabies – Kalahari Private Game Reserve (230km)

You have the option to do the 5 km 'Dassie Nature Trail' through the incredible rock formations and water streams. Game drive for your last chance to see the Klipspringers and Chacma Baboons. Walk to the Falls, then departure to Kalahari Trails Nature Reserve. Wine tasting on a grape farm. On our way we stop at Norokei Salt Pans and we visit the Khomani Bushmen.

Optional 'sundowner' on the Kalahari dunes to watch the Kalahari preparing itself for the night.

Overnight: Kalahari Private Game Reserve (chalets/lodge)

Day 5

Kalahari Game Reserve – Twee Rivieren – Mata Mata (190km)

Morning walk to learn more about the Kalahari and it's many secrets. Departure to Mata Mata in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Lunch at an unfenced picnic spot. A museum that shows us how the pioneers of the old days lived is well worth a visit. Game drive to view the bird species (264) in this 38000 km Park. Predator numbers: Lions - 450, Leopards - 200, Cheetah - 200 and Spotted Hyena - 370.

Overnight: Mata Mata chalets/lodges (ceiling fan and swimming pool)

Day 6

Wake up one hour before gates open. Game drives around Mata Mata camp. Our game drives are determined by temperature, as the animals are active during the cool hours of the day. At Mata Mata there is a waterhole where you can watch the animals coming to drink. Many 'locals', like squirrels, mongooses and jackals, as well as birds like Weavers,Owls, Drongo's and Shrikes can be seen by walking around  the camp.

Overnight: Mata Mata chalets/lodges.

Meals: B, L, D

Day 7

Mata Mata – Twee Rivieren – Upington (405km)

Wake up one hour before gates open, pack up and depart direction South. Today we search for Meerkats, Giraffe and we might meet the Cats. After 4-5 hours of stalk driving we reach Twee Rivieren (12H00) Depart for Upington. Late afternoon arrival at your guesthouse. Tour ends.
